Privacy Policy

Last updated October 16, 2026

Primerfy is a browser-based focus space operated by an independent developer based in Canada. You can use Primerfy without creating an account. We collect only what we need to run accounts, sync your focus streak, and process subscriptions. We do not sell your personal information, show ads, or use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

Information stored only on your device

Whether or not you sign in, Primerfy keeps the following in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is not sent to us:

  • Timer settings, your current session intention, and your recent session history (intentions, durations, and times).
  • Your sound mixer volumes and how much of the free daily audio preview you have used.
  • After checkout, your subscription status, Stripe customer ID, and email, so Pro features unlock right away.

You can remove this information at any time by clearing your browser's site data for Primerfy.

Information we collect

  • Account details. If you create an account, we store your email address and, if you sign in with a provider such as Google, the name it shares with us. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored in hashed form; we never see them in plain text.
  • Focus history and streaks. If you use Primerfy as a guest, your session intentions and history stay only in your browser. If you sign in, we store your total focus minutes, current streak, and completed session logs (duration, session type, optional intention, optional 1–5 star ritual rating, and average binaural frequency) so your streaks and Focus Intelligence analytics sync across devices.
  • Focus Jams (co-working rooms). When you join or host a Focus Jam, other participants in that room see only a random anonymous animal name (such as "Anonymous Fox"), the session intention you choose to share, and your timer status. Your email address and account profile are never shown to other room members.
  • Subscription details. Payments are processed by Stripe, which collects your card details, billing name, email, address, and tax ID if you provide one. We receive your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, and subscription status. We never receive or store your full card number.
  • Live presence. While the app is open, your browser shares a random, anonymous ID and a timestamp so we can count how many people are focusing. This is not linked to your account and is not saved to our database.
  • Technical logs. Our hosting and database providers automatically record standard request information, such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps, for security and reliability.
  • Messages to us. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.

How we use your information

  • To provide Primerfy, sign you in, and sync your focus totals across devices.
  • To start, renew, and cancel your Primerfy Pro subscription and unlock Pro features.
  • To send sign-in links and essential service messages. Stripe sends your receipts and invoices.
  • To answer support requests.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, and to handle refunds and payment disputes.
  • To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Cookies, local storage, and third-party embeds

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and local storage for the preferences described above. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout and billing pages to prevent fraud. If you join a Focus Jam where the host has attached an optional Spotify playlist, the official Spotify embed player loads from Spotify and is governed by Spotify's privacy policy and terms.

Service providers and where data is stored

We rely on a small number of providers to run Primerfy. Each one processes data only to provide its service to us:

  • Supabase for sign-in, our database, and live presence.
  • Stripe for payments, invoices, and the billing portal.
  • Vercel for hosting.

Our database and hosting are located in the United States, so your information is stored and processed there and may be subject to United States law, including lawful access by authorities.

How long we keep information

We keep your account information while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile and sign-in record within 30 days. Billing records held by Stripe are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require. Information in your browser's local storage stays until you clear it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent, by emailing support@primerfy.com. We respond within 30 days. You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing button in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.

If you are in Canada and are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

All traffic to Primerfy is encrypted with HTTPS, and database access is restricted with row-level security so each signed-in user can read only their own profile and session logs, while active Focus Jams expose only anonymous room nicknames and shared intentions. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to protect your information and limit what we collect in the first place.

Children

Primerfy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will also notify subscribers by email before it takes effect.
